Structured output rides each provider’s own grammar (Anthropic output_config, Gemini responseJsonSchema, OpenAI strict-mode honesty) with a coercion ladder that repairs before any paid retry; the checker closes run-fail gaps (the block-sequence bomb dies as NIKA-PARSE-001, env: binds at run exactly as checked); the ${{ }} scanner becomes one shared crate for checker AND runtime: parity by construction; and the first 30 seconds learn to speak: nika welcome mirrors your machine, nika explain narrates a file, init briefs six agent surfaces, --max-cost-usd refuses to start past the static floor.
